Frank Wiedemann’s Bigamo continues it’s remix series into the third round, with Aera, Frankey & Sandrino, and Trikk and Innervisions’ Dixon offering remixes of past label gems from the innovative Fred und Luna and tropical improvisors Keope.
Dixon & Trikk’s joined forces twist the driving ‘The Canary Inukh’ from Keope into a slowly stomping sundance masterpiece, pierced by a triumphant synthesizer lead that aches to blare above a summer’s crowd. [The club version doubles down on the euphoria, for when the added kick is needed to lift the dancefloor higher.]
Aera also takes aim at a Keope track — this time, ‘Caldo (Live in the Attic)’ receives the treatment. The gently revolving refrains of the original suddenly march to an intuitive house beat, harmonising with Aera’s marimba until the resulting fugue becomes irresistibly danceable. Lastly, Frankey & Sandrino turn the potent source material of Fred und Luna’s ‘Die Tropfenkarawane’ into a transcendent late night movemaker, streaked with undulating energy and an classic glamour: one for setting the floor ready for dancing the night away.
The digital release will land on August 14th — itchy fingers can grab the club edit of Dixon & Trikk’s remix on the same day, found in the bonus 7” within the latest LP from Keope, ‘Triangulo’.
